European Working Conditions Observatory

EWCO

The AWWW GmbH was the EU-level and German partner for the European Working Conditions Observatory (EWCO) from 2003-2007. The Observatory, a web-based monitoring system, was launched by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions in 2003. The objective of the EWCO is to provide an easy-access tool to monitor developments in quality of work and employment in EU Member States and at EU level.

In its function as a EWCO partner the AWWW GmbH produced:
The comparative studies on Information Technology: Use and Training in Europe and on Impact of Training on People's Employability are based on an analysis of European level and national survey data provided by EWCO correspondent's network.
The findings of the comparative analysis, The impact of training on people's employability, were presented by Anni Weiler at the European Foundation's EWCO conference organised in cooperation with the Luxembourg EU Presidency on 21/22 June 2005 in Luxembourg.

AWWW GmbH has contributed to all EWCO comparative studies with national reports in the following areas:
The German reports provided for the comparative studies involved national data relating to surveys on German working conditions, official statistical data, national studies and information made available by the social partners as well as other national information sources.
The key products provided as the EWCO EU-level partner are the Annual Reviews of Working Conditions in the EU 2003-2004 and 2004-2005.
